This is a great no cook recipe. It’s perfect to make with a toddler, which is what I did. Making the moon sand was part of the play. This is super learning as it can extend their understanding of measuring. Moon sand is a brilliant resource to also use in school into a tuff spot or container.
- 3 cups of flour
- 1 cup of oil (baby oil)
- glitter
- 1 tbsp powder paint (you could grate chalk into it instead)
- Pop all the ingredients into a bowl and mix – best to just get stuck in with your hands.
I love moon sand as it’s great to make in small qualities, just as long as you use 3:1 ratio. I kept the moon sand in an airtight container for a couple of weeks. You could use a range of different types of containers, paper cups, play dough cutters or different sized tubs.
