Ice Play With the days being warmer I’ve been using ice a lot. I found it really encouraged talk; vocabulary, adjectives and describing what he was doing. Swipe to see . •First one is playdough cutters, letters + numbers into a cake tin to freeze – great to identify difference between numbers + letters as well as locating letters in their name. •My son is really into shiny jewels so have just popped this in water and glitter to freeze – The jewels can be reused. •I had some ice I’d forgotten at Halloween, I’d popped in plastic bats, food colouring and glitter into sandwich bags and frozen them. These make larger blocks of ice perfect for smashing open. • The last picture shows chalks being drawn onto the ice, this is something he did himself. What a great idea! What other ways have you used ice? . . . . . . . . . . .
