Trying to fix his mixer. Sadly this @johnlewisretail mixer didn’t last the strength of toddler. He went off saying he had an idea + came back with tape . Off to the forest today, have a fun weekend everyone.
I had a sneak peek inside the Superhero Trunk, looking forward to doing this with Rex over the next few days. There are so many activities included and I know it says age 3 but these can be done with a toddler. ️🏼

Yesterday @play.hooray shared her quick tip for freezing objects in a cupcake tin. This is a super idea so much easier than freezing objects in freeze bags. Perfect as they each come out in small blocks. I only had to hand plastic butterflies but he loves it!
We have a toddler group this morning. It’s so lovely people volunteer their time every Wednesday. It only costs £1.20 and they provide tea + healthy snack for the children. They also do activities like this, planting seeds (included in the price!). Sometimes traditional things are just as fun. Rex has loved watching this grow. Thanks to all the volunteers out there running these groups 🏼

Superhero Speech Bubbles ~ a selection of superhero speech bubbles. Some with lines and some plain. Let superheroes have conversations! Only spoken words go in the speech bubble. The blue fabric here can be worn as a cape! If you’re a superhero why not? These speech bubbles come plain or lined

Superhero as well as having lovely props to support fun learning it is great to have prompts as well. It’s not cheating to give children alphabet charts, words banks, sound buttons and ideas it’s there to help them. The more support the have the better at learning they become and learn to support themselves independently. Which prompts to you use in your classroom?

Superhero writing ️Children always need a reason to write, give them a purpose (write to ask questions, children design themselves as superheroes). When mark making & writing it is fun to have lots of prompts. Let them wear a cape, a mask and add a bit of sparkle (I had these from a party from @partykitsch)! You don’t need to buy anything a piece of fabric can be used as a cape, or they could make their own masks. As we’ve seen over the last few weeks not all superheroes need capes – we’ve seen such bravery by the women and men working for the Fire/Police/Health service, superheroes come in many forms! Also children don’t need to be mark making in pencil, let them draw and write with a range of tools, these crayons are fab they have a tri-grip (easier to hold). ️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️Free downloads from harrietandviolet.com + my premium resources on @tesresources
